First of all, Happy International Women’s Day!
To me dressing successfully means dressing “smart” (dressing for the occasion) but still including my own personal taste in my clothes. It is true that people judge you on appearance and to a large degree that does include what you wear. One person told me that he likes women who dress themselves in skirts and dresses as it is more feminine. He doesn’t like the look of women in suits or dress pants. To me, this was not really a shock but shows how the world is still very traditional in what women should wear or look like. The typical long hair and flowy dress with heels is still the perceived normal look for a “feminine women”. I do love a pretty dress and a good pencil skirt but sometimes I feel the most comfortable in dress pants and a blazer. The point of this all is that we should wear what we feel most comfortable and confident in regardless of what men or even other women tell us. As women, lets encourage each other to be the best we can be. Show the world that we are boss ass women both through what we wear and what we do. 🙂
