Green Bean

I already had a small lunch so I ordered an appetizer here at Green Bean. I got these shrimp spring rolls, they were delicious but way overpriced for the portion size. I expected more of them as well as fatter spring rolls. I paid around $10 with my GST and tip included. I would probably not come here again as the menu didn’t feature that many things I wanted to try. Service was okay and atmosphere was forgettable. My friends has a full meal and price was around $18-22 for an entree which is standard.

Jinya Ramen

I have been to Jinya once before and got the special they had that day. This time I decided to try something new. This is their Sprouted Up ramen. The soup was good and it comes with the thicker ramen noodles. The egg was good as well. My only 2 complaints where that there were too many brussel sprouts and not enough of the other items. I also like my pork to be more lean and I got some really fatty pieces. I was mostly eating fat and it was not the most pleasant experience.  Additionally the service was not the best. The server who served us talked so lightly that he was whrispering almost and he only talked to my friend and not to me. The lady who seats the customers is not the friendliest. She was there the first time I came to Jinya as well. It is a minor issue but she always seems to be angry haha!

Charcut – Lunch Special

I tried Charcut’s lunch special for the first time. The sandwich set is around $17 and includes the feature sandwich, a daily soup, fries, pickle and a bag of chocolate chip cookies to take with you. It not super big portioned but enough for me to be full! I did not really like the cheese on the fries, the texture was very dry and flaky and didn’t give any flavor at all. I really enjoyed the sandwich tho, it was a braised pork with bbq sauce. The soup was a squash soup, it was very herby or full of spices I personally did not like it but other people liked it. Overall I think it was a good value lunch and I would go back again and try their other soups and sandwiches.

Unicorn Pub – Sports Cantina

A while back I tried the Unicorn – Irish Bar and this time we tried the Sports Cantina floor of the Unicorn. Everything here has a Mexican  flair. I tried the Chicken Karrage tacos. It comes with cilantro, mango, avocado sauce and cabbage. I was something on the fence when I ordered this, I was not sure if it was gonna taste it. However this is now one of my favourite tacos now!
